Trustive to share roaming experience with members

Trustive, Europe's leading Wireless IP Clearinghouse, today announced that it has become a member of the WiMAX Forum®, an industry-led organisation that promotes the interoperability and certification of WiMAX™ products.

Trustive will be joining the WiMAX Forum Global Roaming Working Group to help develop industry-wide roaming standards and share its experiences of providing Wi-Fi roaming services to the likes of Telefónica, Vodafone and over 70 other hotspot operators worldwide. Trustive is also taking an active role in the development of roaming between WiMAX networks and GSM and 3G roaming partners.

Trustive will be working closely with the WIMAX Forum to help ensure the establishment of common roaming standards for WiMAX technology.

The WiMAX Forum is a not-for-profit organisation comprising more than 490 companies including 157 operators committed to promoting and certifying interoperable WiMAX products. WiMAX products are designed to deliver wireless broadband services to both residential customers and businesses by creating economies of scale made possible by standards-based, interoperable products and services.

Bram Jan Streefland, co-founder and managing director of Trustive, said: "WiMAX presents a great opportunity for network operators and roaming will play a key role in its growth. Being part of the WiMAX Forum will enable Trustive to remain at the forefront of the WiMAX roaming standard debate."

"The WiMAX Forum continues to gain industry support with nearly 500 members to-date," said Ron Resnick, president of the WiMAX Forum. "As companies, both large and small, join together to create an ecosystem of interoperability, their products and services are delivering anytime, anywhere broadband access to consumers around the world."
